Venencia Workshop in Córdoba: An unique experience
Discover one of the most emblematic jobs in the world of wine with our Introductory Workshop on the Art of the Venencia.
This experience is specially designed for tourist groups visiting Córdoba, as well as for incentive travel, congress tourism, or MICE groups looking to enjoy an authentic, fun, and easy activity connected to Córdoba’s liquid gastronomic heritage. It can be done at any time—either before visiting the Mezquita or after strolling along the Roman Bridge.
In a relaxed atmosphere, our venencia instructors will guide you step by step to learn how to handle the venencia, the traditional tool used to extract wine from the barrel with elegance and precision and pour it into the glass. The venencia is considered the bridge between the soul of the wine and the spirit of the taster.
No previous experience is necessary: the workshop is designed for groups of all ages, with simple explanations, practical demonstrations, and time for each participant to practice at their own pace. We work with water and soap, so there’s no problem with spilling—this is an activity for everyone.
In addition to learning the technique, you will discover the origin of the venencia, its role in Córdoba’s wineries, and some curiosities that make this craft a true art.
The workshop concludes with a small tasting (grape must or wine), perfect for toasting to your experience.
